Souls in Purgatory, Jan Pieter Ykens
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.

Born in 1256, St. Gertrude the Great was a German Benedictine nun and mystic who had a deep devotion to the souls in Purgatory. She had mystical encounters with Jesus, who revealed to her His infinite love and asked her to spread it to sinners and those who are suffering. Pope Benedict XIV gave her the title “the Great,” making her the only female saint with this title. Her feast day is celebrated on November 16th. You can read more about St. Gertrude and the conversations she had with Our Lord in a small but powerful book called St. Gertrude the Great, Herald of Divine Love.
